What this site stores. | Spacescaping

One cookie and one flag, both set by something you did. We do count how often each page is read, in a way that cannot tell one reader from another — no advertising, no tracking, and nothing here shared with anyone.

The language you chose

Choosing a language writes a cookie named spacescaping_locale, scoped to spacescaping.co and its subdomains so that picking Türkçe here keeps you in Türkçe after you sign in. It holds two letters and nothing else, and it lasts a year. It is written only when you use the language switcher.

That you have read the notice

Dismissing the notice at the bottom of the page stores a flag called spacescaping_cookie_notice in your browser, so it does not appear again. It is stored on your device and never sent to us.

Signing in

If you sign in at app.spacescaping.co, that application sets a session cookie so it knows it is still you between pages. It is scoped to spacescaping.co so one sign-in covers the site, the workspace and the console. Signing out removes it.

Counting how often a page is read

When a page loads it adds one to a counter: the path, the language, the referring site’s host, and whether the screen is a phone, a tablet or a desktop. Nothing is stored on your device for this, no address is kept, and there is no identifier of any kind — not even a hashed one. Your visit lands as +1 on a row that already describes thousands of others, so there is no way to tell that two readings were the same person, or what anyone read next. That is why we do not ask permission for it: there is no choice to offer you when the record cannot be about you.

What there is not

No advertising, no tracking pixels, no third-party scripts, no cookies set by anybody but us, and no visitor count — because nothing recorded could support one. Nothing on this site profiles you, and nothing follows you to another one.

Removing them

Every browser can clear cookies and site data for one site, usually from the padlock in the address bar. Clearing them here means the site forgets your language and shows the notice again; nothing else changes.

If this changes

Adding anything that could tell one reader from another — a cookie, an identifier, a third party — would require asking first, and the notice at the bottom of the page would become a question rather than a statement. This page would say so before that happened, not after.
